Small space debris is a major issue with no solution or plan to implement in sight. This issue of debris, if not mitigated, could have far reaching impacts on the ability of the citizens of the world to communicate.  These comunications are crucial to first responders in a dissaster, Homeland Security protecting our borders, and the Department of Defence monitoring troop movements or locating military instalations.  Space debris is a serious problem to our exsisting comunication satallite infrastructure. In order to rectify this problem, the space community must work to create better practices to mitigate the creation of debris while working to bring current debris out of space.
